Hi, I’m Lily!

I have been and am many things. I’ve been a college student fighting my way to a Chemistry degree, a new chemist learning the realities of the corporate lab, and a new wife and mother learning how quickly life can shift. I’ve been the woman who realized she needed to rediscover herself, leaving a ten-year career to pursue an entrepreneurial path in real estate. I’ve also been the mom with an eight-year gap between her first and second child, discovering firsthand that no two pregnancies are the same.

Through all those changes, I realized that the title of Mother has not disappeared. It has only deepened.

For the moment, I have hung up my chemist hat, but I cannot seem to put the curiosity and the obsessive urge to analyze situations down. What better place to put that energy than into something that has no written manual or proven best strategy? I am not here to write “the manual.” I am simply here to let you watch as I learn along the way.

What should you expect to find here? Me fighting for my life in an opinionated, gate-keeping, and judgmental world. I kid, I kid. You can expect to read and feel my experiences as I go through them, catch a few reflections on my parenting trials and my growth along the way, and have a few “whew, I’m not alone” moments.
